Please discuss the books that you are most interested in reading for the lit circles here and why.

See everyone on Monday.  Thank you for your well wishes.  I'm sure I will be great by then.

I honestly can not remember the title of one of the books i enjoyed. So i will describe it, it is the book about a native American who made a decision to go to a school where he has a better chance at life. I like this book because i could relate to the character. A lot of people have have to change the way that they act and appear to fit in different settings.

I am interested in reading Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt. While reading the first few pages, I put myself into the characters perspective and I really just enjoyed reading along because the story seemed so unique to me. I also liked the authors style of writing; it was detailed, and it "flowed."

Like Jenna, I am also interested in reading Angela's Ashes. When I picked it up, I wasn't sure what it was about. As I was reading the first page or so, about 3 people came up to me, telling me how they had previously read that book and LOVED it. I was absolutely inspired to read it. This story really caught my attention, and I wanted to keep reading. :]

PS-Mrs.B gave us the book to take home.. Just informing you. O_o

I'm really interested in reading King Dork and The Joy Luck Club. These two books seemed like something I would have picked up on my own. I have also heard a lot about The Joy Luck Club. So one of the two would be really great, but I would also like to read How The Garcia Girls Lost Their Accent because I picked that one up this summer, but never got around to it.

i also want to read angelas ashes, my parents and my sister both read it and they also read 'tsk 'tsk. and i have them at home. in class i got up to the first three pages and it was already engaging, a lot of other people also already recommended it and also because im irish too, but i dont really know much about the potato famine and about other irish history or how people lived in Ireland years ago, so i would like to read this and learn more about it.

I am interested in reading The Joy Luck Club and King Dork because when I first saw these two books I thought one book was going to be better than the other. As soon as I read the first few pages of both books, I couldn't stop reading either one of them. Either one of those books is good. Also I liked another book but I couldn't remember the title. I think its the book that Moses is describing.

I can't really remember the title of the book that i found interesting, but i know that it has an all green cover. Mr.N told me that, that was a good book and i was sitting next to Raisa and she said that she had watched the movie and that it was great. -Christian Segura

I can't remember all the book titles, because Mr. Nisonoff collected the index cards, but I remember my number one choice which was King Dork. I like this one because it relates to us high school kids in American culture, so it might be something to read. I also choosed two other books by Julia Alvarez; How the Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents and the other one had Butterflies in the title. I liked these because it revolves around Latin culture, and that is my culture. It would be fun to read and see from different perspectives about Hispanic culture. As well, I can learn more about it.

I am interested in reading The Joy Luck Club because a lot of people said it was a great book and as I started to read it, it seemed very interesting. I would also like to read King Dork because as I read the back cover, it really grabbed my attention and didn't sound boring at all.

I am most interested in the book "First They Killed My Father" by Loung Ung. It is about the harsh live of a little girl growing up in Cambodia during the Vietnam War. I have decided to read this book because I don't know much about how the people of Cambodia lived alike during the war. Before I have read a lot of memoirs, but this one is a little different because usually the main character of the book already live a poor and tough life, but the main character in " First they killed My father" the main character lived a decent middle class life. I want to see how the main character get use to an tough and poor life instead of living a decent life.

I'm interested in reading Angela's Ashes because the storyline and plot seem very interesting. It's about a boy who lives in a lower-class Irish family, who faces a lot of misfortune although he's very young. I think that I can enjoy this book because the storyline seems very the story is very realistic and well-written.

The book that I enjoyed looking at in class on Friday was King Dork. I can relate to it because I am a teenager who is in their sophomore year of high school and am handling a death in the family. Tom the main character that it is about seems to have a very common life style of the teenagers in our school and is learning to handle difficulties occurring in his life.

I forgot the title but it had boy in it. hahaha. i wanted to read it because it sounds interesting and little bit relate-able to myself. i would also want to read king dork. it also looked interesting.

I liked the book "First They Killed My Father". I liked this book because I thought that this book had a very good plot, is very interesting to read, and probably has a good ussage of characterization. This book also reminds me of a movie that I just recently saw, "Slumdog Millionar". The plots aren't the same, but the character's backrounds are quite similar.

I'm most interested in reading the "Joy Luck Key Club" or something like that. Because first, Ms. B said it was a really good book and therefore I read the back and agreed.

I want to read "The Joy Luck Club" because i heard that it was a good book from Ms. S. She said it was her favorite out of all the books that we had to choose from. I liked that I had someone elses opinion on it. I dont usually like reading memoirs, but hopefully this book will be something I'll be interested in.

One book I seemed really interested in was "Angela's Ashes." I'm not quite aware of what it is really about, but it looks like it could be about a war, the Holocaust, a famine or something of the sort. Either way, it caught my attention and I would be rather interested in reading more on it. As well, there was another really interesting book that caught my attention after reading the back/first few pages, but I can't remember the name. It is on my index card, though.

I am most interested in "The Joy Luck Club." I want to read it because Mrs. B recommended it to me saying that out of all of them this was the best. After interviewing the book I feel like it was something that I would enjoy reading.

The book I have decided to read is " the absolutely true diary of a part-time Indian ". The reason why I want to read this is because I had west Indian family members and it seems like this book should help me understand my culture more, since I cannot ask my family members whom have passed away

The book I would like to read is called King Dork. I was interested in this book because it seemed different then all of the others. It seemed more modern and relatable than the other books which made it look interesting. The story is about a boy in high school who is facing different obstacles. This is also easy to relate to. I think King Dork seems like a fun book, and I think I would enjoy reading it.

Since I am trying to catch up on my blog posts, I have already been assigned the book I was most interested. The book I was most interested in reading was called The God Of Small Things. I was first interested in the book because I was interested to read about how the two brothers and sisters/twins deal with everything, opposed to how they woulv'e dealt with everything alone, and also, I thought the cover was really pretty.
After reading some of the book, I learned NEVER to judge a book by it's cover because I am having a lot of difficulty reading the book because I am not as interested in the book as I thought I would be.

The book that I am reading is How the Garcia Girls lost their accents and I like how the book is really going through memories that are revealing the characters' opinions on the pros and cons of their Spanish heritage.

i really want to read Angelas Ashes becasue it looks really sad. I read the first two pages and I didn't want to stop reading it, the author knows how to engage the reader and she hooked me on the literature. Another reason for me reading this book is becaus I know that its about an Irish family whos very pooor and I know that it is by the older boys point of view, so I'll sort of Know how it feels to be poor and I'll see how he suffered and maybe learn to appreciate life a little more.

One of the books I was interested in was The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan. I heard of this book before and heard that it was very good. Also, I'm interested in Asian culture, being of Asian heritage myself.

One of the Books that I wanted to read was The Kite Runner. The reason I wanted to read that book is because I heard it was a very good book and it would help me understand Middle Eastern culture a little better. Even though I am not Middle Eastern, I have a strong tie to Israel and want to know more about the eintire area.
I was given First they Killed my father which was my second choice and it is very good. I was a little skeptical at first but it is turning out to be a great book.
