During the presentations today, I was able to learn a lot about everyone who presented. While everyone was presenting I was comparing in my head the differences of each persons culture. I found it very interesting to see that although we all go to the same school, and do the same stuff, we all come from very different places. I learned a little bit about each person. One thing that stuck out to me was when Maggie presented. I really liked te way she put everything together, and I liked the symbols she chose for gender roles. I thought that really stood out.

Today while everyone was presenting in class, I was doing what Lauren was doing. I was thinking how everybody's culture was similar and how they were different.
A lot of presentations surprised me, and I learned a lot of things that I would never have expected. For example I never knew Hernan boxed, or that Sara played soccer, I also really liked what she and Maggie made.
I also thought it was cool that Anthony has a little rock that was once part of a Volcano.

I learned a little about everyone today during the presentations. Like Avi likes the mets and that the first thing he learned to write was hebrew, Rosmarie took dance and Monica use to take soft ball. From these presentations I was learning things about people I didn't know to begin with.

Today while people were presenting I learned many things. I learned that Megan used to be dressed up when she was younger by her mother. Her mother used to make her clothes because she said that when a mother has a daughter it's like the mother is dressing up a doll.

Today while listening to my classmate's presentations on their culture i learned that Sara Touzard is both Ecuadorian and Hungarian... i thought she was only Ecuadorian. I also learned that she would like to be a writer when she gets older. I also learned that Moses actually wants to be a Journalist, & not a mechanic. I always thought he did, cause he says cars are interesting to him. (that's an inference! :)). And I learned that Maggie wants to be a Marine biologist, & Lefkios is from Cypress.

Today during the presentations I learned a lot about my classmates that I didnt no before.Today I learned that Rosemarie is named afeter her grandma, and they now share things in common. I also learned and thought was very interesting was that Avi learned how to speak English before Hebrew, but learned how to write Hebrew before learning how to write English.

Today while listening to each person's presentation, the entire class was able to learn something about that person in relation to their culture.
For example, Rosemarie was named after her grandmother and Zoe has a strong opinon towards animal rights and therefore has been a vegetarian for about two years. Avi learned and plays piano by ear and learned to speak English before Hebrew, but was able to write in Hebrew before English. Edina has a Pooh stuffed bear that she used to carry around with her everywhere until she was in the sixth grade and Jenna's family loves to travel. They've been to Florida, the Bahamas, Toronto and more. Monica has played softball since she was eight and stuck to it for five years and Victoria takes Tae Kwon Do (?) and competes in tournaments. Lastly, Sophia is fluent in Greek and took ballet for eight years.

Today from the presentation, I learned about of the Jewish culture from Stefani and Leni. They should their bat mitzvah invitations and certificate. They had to go to 9 years of Hebrew school and then the party was a celebration with family and friends, for being able to recite prayers in Hebrew. I found that interesting; as well Stefani talked about the Manra when for Hanakauh they lit it for each 8 days but there was 9 candles, the middle one being the one to light all of the others.

Today during the presentations I learned a lot about my classmates. I learned about there religions and I also learned about there hobbies and family memebers, and what they want to be when they grow. I thought that that brandon bryant's project was very interesting how all his family memebers gave him things before they died i thought that was very nice. Also I thought that Maggie's project was very interesting because I liked how Maggie put a blue surrounding around her presentation because she wanted to be a marine biologist i thought that was awesome. I also liked how Anthony Slati made his pictures and artifacts out of a house that was really nice. All of the presentations were very good so far and I learned more about my classmates.

Today during the presentations I learned many things about all the people. Like the reason Leni made her batmitsfa (I know I spelt that wrong), and how If Erik looses his sidekick he would apparently cry. I enjoyed learning about everyones cultures.

One thing I learned today during presentations today was that Stefani and Leni both had bat mitzvahs. I like the story about Leni's grandmother and how it was intertwined with her invites and all the facts Stefani had were really interesting.

During today's class cultural presentation, I learned abundant amount of knowledge from my classmates. I was able to understand a individual better after they explained their culture and their passions to me.
Avi's presentation allowed me to understand the person he is, and also all his interests in life are. He enjoyed MMA, which is his passion, and he has been training since he was two. This shows that he is a individual who is very committed to what he loves.
From Sophia's presentation, her award for finishing Greek school indicates that she spent a lot of effort and time into learning how to speak Greek, therefore the language has became part of her culture. I think she believes that when you do something for so long, it will become part of you.

Today in class I learned a lot of things about my classmates that I never knew before. I learned that Hernan has a special Dereck Jeter cup and how he is the only one in his family aloud to drink it. I learned that bianca j likes to eat italian food, and how she goes to church and reads the bible and how she always wears her prayer beads to church. One presentation that intrest me was brandon's presentation because I liked the way he included his artwork and how his family members gave him cards or other things before they died. Also I never knew that Maggie wanted to be a marine biologist and that Moses wanted to be a journalist. I never realizes how many cultures there were in one classroom and how they are similar and different at the same time (Basically what Lauren said).

In class, I learned that a big part of Avi's life is theatre and I think it is really cool how he learned to write in hebrew before he learned to write in english (which is really young because he learned to write english when he started school.) I also learned that he learned how to play piano by ear and he can't read music and I think that's really cool because I don't think I would ever be able to do that. I also learned that he really likes the Mets and he loves the beach. He even described it as his "second home."

Yesterday in class I learned many different cultural facts about other people that I never knew. I jot down some things that interested me the most about each persons background.
Rosemarie: She is Italian, named after her grandma and has a tradition to bake sweets when its her birthday or an occassion (they were awesome)
Zoe: She is Greek, is a vegetarian, raised christian and is a big supporter for animal rights.
Edina: Her father is a preacher, loves pooh, loves dogs and cats and music is a big part of her life.
Jenna: She loves to travel, she is a Yankee fan, is Jewish and has met John Ciena.
Monica: She is a Mets fan (Yay), she is from India, and has a family necklace that was passed down from grandma-mom-her.
Victoria: She does Tae-Kwon-Doe, did Gymnastics, is Chinese and is learning chinese (not sure what dialect) from her grandma.
Sophia: Her background is Greek, she is christian, can speak and write greek fluently, and did balet.

I am really interested in learning more about others cultures and I think this project was a great way to learn and show how culutraly diverse our class is.

I thought I knew a lot about my classmates, but I guess I didn't know as much as I thought. For example, today I learned that Andrew Villa is Italian and eats pasta every Sunday (just like ME!). I also didn't know that Edina's father was a preacher, which I think is pretty interesting. In my advisory, I learned that Anastasia was so into scrap-booking. That was also interesting for me, because I would love to start scrap-booking too. :) Also, I didn't know that Jenna had been playing basketball for such a long time. WHOA! (note to Jenna; the education cube was a cute idea!) I learned that the Mets are a big part of Avi's life, and also theatre is a big part of his family. I thought it was really nice that Rosemarie visits her Grandma every Sunday.
Finally, I had no idea that Opal's Grandma is "shrinking" and that Ante doesn't like his Grandma. :D
You learn something new every day :)

Sophia learned to writein Greek before English, but spoke English before Greek. On Sunday nights Andrew Villa eats pasta. Avi can speak and write in hebrew very well, and Marc Silverman wants to deal with computers when he grows up even though his laptop crashed
