What I enjoyed most about the odyssey was the recent story about the sirens because when they were singing to the crew even though Odysseus was saying untie me because the song was so beautiful and the way they were singing was pretty to, the crew and odysseus still stayed on the boat. I felt it was cool that they did this because that shows that they overcame the temptation and sometimes that is hard to do.
When Odysseus comes home I think he will tell his wife penelope everything that he did with women and things that went on the trip with some of the crew getting eaten and I predict thats whats going to happen Bianca Johnson- Period 2
The part that I enjoyed about the odyssey was the story when odysseus and his men verses the cyclopes. I thought it was interesting how he was able to use his intelegence to outsmart a creature that was much larger and stornger than he was. I also thought it was interesting how he was smart enough to tell the cyclopes that his name was nobody, so that when someone asked who hurt you he could say that nobody hurt him. I believe that when odysseus returns to Ithaca his homw would be extremely didfferent from when he first left. Also I think he will have to somehow prove to the people of Ithaca that it os really Odysseus who they thought was dead for 20 years.
The episode I enjoyed the most was the "Cattle of the Sun God" I really liked this one, because even though the men were told not to kill any of the cattle they did and they got punished. It was like they didn't believe Odysseus, and wanted to test the gods. This part kind of remined me of when my brothers are doing something bad and my mom will tell them to stop or they will get in trouble. Then they don't stop and get in trouble.
I predict that Odysseus will face many more battles in coming home.
The episode of the Odyssey that I enjoyed th emost was the Sirens. The reason being is because I found the way Odysseus reacted to it was very clever. He gave his men certain instructions that they all were able to follow. The idea that Odysseus wanted to hear the Sirens' song, and be the only one to live showed Odysseus's epic hero quality. Also, they were able to get by perfectly fine just by following Odysseus' instructions. I like the way the situation was handled, and I enjoyed very much reading this episode. I think when Odysseus returns to home, nothing is going to be the same. I think Odysseus is going to be able to defeat the suitors, considering he has been on a journey for over 20 years fighting for his life. I think it is going to be very difficult for Odysseus to return home again, I think things are not going to be as he remembered them. I think a lot of people wont believe that he is Odysseus considering they all thought he was dead.
The episode I enjoyed the most was the "Cattle of the Sun God". i liked this part the most because even though the gods made it clear to odysseus not to allow his men to kill the cattle and his men didnt believe him and they did so anyways, because they didnt believe odysseus when he told his crew not to kill the cattle. doing this they got punished and all. This reminds me when teachers tell their student not to do something because the students will get in trouble and the students still do what their teacher told them not to do and they get into trouble
What I enjoyed reading was the one Bianca liked also,because I pictured them singing and i thought that was a really good scene. Also when he wasent scared I think that was brave of him because that shows how he is stong and would fight for anything and for anyone. What I predict that's going to happend to odesseus is even though he thinks the bad things had stop, I think something bads gonna happend again,like a surprise.
I think my favorite scene may have been the cyclops scene. It really showed me many characteristics about odysseus, such as that he is brave, smart, and is able to lead his men, even in nerve wrackign circumstances (very epic qualities :D) I thought it was pretty clever that he told the cyclops his name was nbdy. He really lucked out that 1) the cyclops was pretty stupid and 2) the cyclops told his friends that "nbdy" was poking his eye out, instead of just pointing to Odysseus.
I predict that everything will go as Tiresias has rpedicted; Odysseus will come home and find his wife faithful to him, but with many suitors. he will kill them all. I don't really know what will happen when he is supposed to sail away to a land where people don't salt their meat...? Why would he sail away after he gets home?
My favorite episode of the Odyssey was when Odysseus and his men came face to face with cyclops. I liked the fact that they outsmarted the creature. Since Odysseus said his name was Nobody, the cyclops wouldn't know who had taken his eye out. When Odysseus returns home, I think no one will believe it's him since it has been 20 years since everyone saw him, and I think he is going to tell his wife and son about every obstacle and creature that he encountered.
I enjoyed reading the 1st part of the Odyssey,I can see why it's considered as one of the best written epic poems.The episode I enjoyed reading the most was when Odysseus and his men fought the cyclops. Odysseus showed his strenght and intelligence by poking a huge monster's eye out and in the process of doing it being able to protect himself by telling the cyclop that his name was "nobody".Odysseus is clearly smart because he knew that someone was going to ask the cyclop who poked his eye out and they'll never be able to find the Odysseus because he was "nobody". This episode shows all the elements of an epic poem, and it was my favorite.
I think people aren't going to recognize Odysseus since it's 20 years since he left.His wife Penelope will be faithful to him just like Tiresias predicted. His son won't recognize him and there will be a lot of conflict between people.

I liked the Sirens episode because Odysseus's men trusted him and listened to him and obeyed orders. Odysseus told him men to tie him to the boat and no to untie him no matter how much he screamed and begged. His men listened and kept the beeswax in their ears. I think that its very brave of Odysseus to put himself out there like that.
I predicted that home would not be the same as when he left it. I think that when he returns, Penelope will be happy, but the men that wanted to take out his wife, will try and kill him. I think that Telemachus will be very inviting when he sees his father.
The episode that I enjoyed the most was The Cattle of the Sun God. I liked this episode because in this it wasn't only of Odysseus' actions. It voiced how on of his men, stood up and pleaed to eat only a few of the cattle. They came up with the plan, where they would build a temple for the Helios and sacrafice for them. As well, they didn't think any of the Gods would find out, but the gods always see everything. I also liked that this plot took place while Odysseus drifted off to sleep. For once, Odysseus couldn't save his men from the imminent danger. It also shows how us as humans, will do anything for food even when we are told not to for there would be serious consequences.
For Odysseus' homecoming I predict that his whole home of Ithaca, would be in total and insane mayhem. Since he hasn't been home in 20 years, other warriors would try to claim his spot in power. As well, it Odysseus' son is a grown man, so he might not be able to remember his father.
So far my favorite part if the Odyssey was the Cyclops scene because, it shows his bravery to the cyclops despite the out come of everything that was possible that can happen.
I think Odysseus will have a difficulty when he returns home back to Itheca. People will probably treat him different from how they use to back 20 years befor his journey.
The adventure on the Land of the Dead was really interesting and enjoyable to read. It was when Odysseus travelled to the Land of the Dead to speak to the spirit of Tiresias. Tiresias is the blind prophet who was going to tell Odysseus what happens when he gets home. When he gets to the land, he meets a lot of dead spirits who share their stories with him.
After, Odysseus meets Tiresias, who warns him of the obstacles he has to face while going home. He tells Odysseus his fate that he will return home, reclaim his wife and kill the suitors. Tiresias warns him not to touch the flocks of the Sun God at the land of Thrinacia. If he does, he will face more hardship and suffering before he returns home.
Odysseus also meets the spirit of his mother, Anticleia. She tells him how she died of grief waiting for him to come home. She also updates him about his wife Penelope.
This story was interesting to read because it showed me a different side of Odysseus. It showed me how sad and pained he was to see his dead mother. Usually, he is this strong courageous hero in the story. Odysseus tried to reach out to his mother to show his affections but his hands went through his mother's spirit. He was really depressed to see that he could never touch his mother. Odysseus seemed weak during this episode, which is not like him.
I predict for Odysseus homecoming that he is going to find Penelope arranging her second marriage with one of the suitors. Odysseus is going to kill all of Penelope's suitors and will go face to face with Penelope and tell her that he is her husband. I predict that after the reunion, Odysseus will go to the greek gods who tortured him during his journey, like Poseidon, and try to make amends with them in order to prevent further conflicts.
My favorite episode was 'The Sirens,' because in that episode, Odysseus' leadership abilities are really evident. I also like that this episode makes you question on if Odysseus is really a hero or if he only wants to do good for himself. He could have easily put wax over his own ears so that he wouldn't have to hear the Siren's song, but he chose to listen. Probably, just to say that he was the only would who could withstand the temptations of the Sirens.
As for Odysseus' homecoming, I think it will be a relief to Odysseus, but his battle will not be over. Even though he would have sucessfully made it home, there are sure to be other troubles awaiting him as he was gone for nearly 20 years.
My favorite episode of the Odyssey was by far the Sirens. Honestly, it was the easiest episode to understand for me, and it also represents temptation, which is also present in the modern world. For some reason, it reminded me of a fantasy or like a dream instead of an Ancient Greek myth, but I liked that. I also liked the idea of Odysseus' men putting wax in their ears to block out the music. Although this wasn't the first time he had done something clever, (like before he escaped the cyclops by hanging onto the sheep) but I thought this idea was a little more realistic. But, I didn't like how he forced a hero out of himself by strapping himself on the boat, he was being brave, but the other men could have done that as well if they were in charge.
I predict that when Odysseus comes home he will be alone, no more men left, being that they were killed along the way. I also think he will be greeted unexpectedly, everyone thinking of him as dead but also welcomed as a hero. I also think that he might tell Penelope what he had been doing, as in cheating on her, and that she will forgive him.
My favorite part of the Odyssey was the part where they went to the cyclops's cave. It was funny how easy it was to trick the cyclops. I didn't really like the violence in it though. :(

The episode of The Odyssey I enjoyed most in Part 1 was the Cyclops because I thought it had the best plot out of all the chapters we read. I really liked the trick they played in it, especially when Odysseus told the Cyclops his name was Nohbody so the Gods would have no one to blame and Odysseus and his men could safely escape. I also think this revealed many qualities in Odysseus, such as how he is a very cunning man. We also see the side of Odysseus that doesn't really care for his men because he only makes an effort to save the strongest ones for later benefit.
In his homecoming, I think Odysseus will find that though he might have looked forward to getting home, he will find it just as difficult as his journey to get there. I think he will face many challenges trying to get life back the way it was before he left, such as killing the suitors that have taken over his home.
I feel as though the episode in which I enjoyed most was the "Land of the Dead." As our group also created a movie based on this section, I felt that this episode held a large amount of important information regarding Odysseus's character. Anticlea, Odysseus mother, was met, and Odysseus's strong feelings and love for his mother were shown.
However, his soul filled with grief, and in a way, weakness; a character trait in which we haven't seen before this episode. Usually, as Monica said, Odysseus was the strong, "epic hero." I found this as an interesting character turning point in the midst of the epic poem.
As for Odysseus's homecoming, I predict that Odysseus will eventually reveal all that he has done against his wife Penelope. However, major battles will occur due to the fact that Penelope has stayed loyal throughout all of his journey. I can predict that for sure, Odysseus will have to overcome several obstacles in order to retrieve the life that he once had.
I feel that the scene that I enjoyed the most would probably be the Land of the Dead. This is so because I found it intresting when Odysseus met all of his dead friends and family, like when he saw Elpenor and his mother; when Odysseus met these people, he showed a characteristic that he had never shown before, grief. That is probably why I liked that scene so much, because he showed grief for his friends and family for the first time in all of part one; and him showing grief tells me that Odysseus is an actual human, and not some sort of a killing machine. Another thing that I liked about The Land of the Dead was all of the cool people that he met in Homer's version of it. He was able to see Achillies, Hurculies' phantom, and other cool Gods. This was a great usage of connetion between The Odyssey and other mythologies, which I found the comparison to be really neat.
When Odysseus returns to Ithica, I believe that what Tiresies predicted will be true; which means that Odysseus will kill all of the Suitors when he gets back to Ithica. I believe this mainly because Tireseis was already correct about the first part of his prediction. He predicted that if the crew killed the sun god cattle, all of them, ecept for Odysseus, would die by the power of the gods (this happened in the chapter, The Sun God Cattle). If he was right about that, then why can't he be right about everything else. I just realized that Tiresies made this prediction in the chapter, The Land of the Dead; this is very ironic.
The episode that I enjoyed the most was "Cattle of the Sun God" because it showed a lesson that was taught. When Odysseus told his men that whatver they do, they shouldn't kill the cattle because it will bring danger, the men betrayed Odysseus and went ahead to kill the Cattle. The punishment they faced was indeed death. This shows that they didn't listen to their leader because they were so hungry.
When Odysseus gets home, I predict that it will be totaly different, because he was gone for about 20 years, and in the beginning it will be hard for him to settle in.

THE EPISODE THAT I LIKED THE MOST FORM THE ODYSSEY WAS THE "CATTLE OF THE SUN GOD" BECAUSE THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT EPISODE BECAUSE THEY WERE GIVEN STRICT INSTRUCTIONS BY THE SUN GOD TO NOT TOUCH THE CATTLE. I CAN PREDICT THAT WHEN HE GETS HOME THERE WILL BE MANY SUITORS IN HIS HOUSE AND THAT HIS OLD LIFE WONT BE THE SAME. EVERYTHING WILL BE DIFFERENT BECAUSE HE WENT AGAINST WHAT HE WAS TOLD AND KILLED THE CATTLE. NOT ONLY IS HE ALONE BUT NOTHING WILL BE THE SAME. KNOWING ODYSSEUS HE WILL COME UP WITH A PLAN TO GET RID OF THE SUITORS AND TRY TO GET HIS OLD LIFE BACK.
The part of the Odyssey I enjoyed the most was the part with the sirens. I enjoyed this part because it was one of the only times while reading the epic poem that I found myself getting excited to see what was going to happen next. I was not sure if his men were going to remain loyal to their word and keep him tied up or if they would go back on their word and let him go explore the land of the sirens. When the poem said they were going up to Odysseus, when he was screaming to be let go, I thought they were untying him, when they were actually holding him tighter. I also liked this episode because the events that took place required a lot of planning and strategy.
I think that when Odysseus gets home, he will reunite with his family (His wife, Penelope, and his son, Telemachus.) I think that even though he is finally home, he will receive some sort of bad news, to keep the story moving.
My favorite episode would have to be the 'Sirens' episode. It was definitely the easiest episode for me to understand. It was also relatable, for basically anyone to be able to stand up and be kind of like a role model (or hero), because Odysseus & even his men knew that they wouldn't be able to pull what he did. If he had tied up anyone of his men, the plan wouldn't have worked out so well, & the Odysseus story probably would have changed.
I can predict that Odysseus will find home, after a bunch of more situations trying to keep him from getting there. He will also give a sincere apology to his wife Penelope for cheating (hopefully). And then tell her about his adventure.
The episode of the Odyssey that I enjoyed the most was "The Sirens". The reason why I liked that episode is because it shows Odysseus' leadership qualities. Odysseus becomes a leader by taking charge and telling his crew to put earwax in their ears so they are not tempted by the songs the sirens sings. He is also good at taking direction by listening to Circe's directions to warn him about heading near the Sirens and telling him what to do when he goes near them.Odysseus takes one for the team by telling his crew to tie him up to face the Sirens and their hypnotic singing.He instructs them to not untie him no matter what he says or does when they get close to the Sirens. Their singing voices felt like a force that made you want to get closer and closer to them which of course would kill them. Their voices had an enchanting yet addictive quality that you couldn't turn your back on. But Odysseus never gave up and was determined to endure the Sirens' song and broke free from them. This shows his determination and his ability to resist temptation. Odysseus became the first person to listen to the Sirens and survive.
I predict that Odysseus will continue on his journey and face more monsters, spirts, conflicts between gods, death of more crew members, and more mystical creatures. I think Odysseus will be the only one left standing because he puts so much of his life in these crazy adventures. When Odysseus comes home to Ithaca, I think he will have a lot of catching up to do with his family and will have conflicts between his wife, Penelope and his son, Telemauchus. Will Odysseus' family ever forgive him for leaving them behind for 20 years or even know if he is still alive? I'm not sure if there will be a happy ending.
Out of what we have read inthe odyssey. My favorite out of the ones read, was probably the sirens. I enjoyed this story because Odysseus wanted to hear the zing of the sirens, but was told only he could listen to it. So he put wax in all if his mens ears, and tied himself up so he could not move. Then he listened to the song an eventually was not able to hear it anymore because they got to a far distance. This shows that he listened to what he was told and so did his men. I think that when Odysseus returns, he will fight off all the suitors just like he planned, and I'm still curious if he will be honest to his wife about how "faithfull" he really has been over the 20 years he was gone

My favorite episode from this epic story would probably be the "Land of The Dead" when Odysseus and his crew went to the underworld to visit Tiresias who holds knowledge of their future. This really showed me how he showed his kindness and weakness as he sees his dead mother again.
I believe that when Odysseus comes home, he will kill all the suitors in his house and get back with Penelope. I predict that some conflict will happen between the Gods and himself, and possibly at the end, he has all the glory.

The episode I enjoyed most was about the Sea Monster because I feel that representing natural disasters as Gods was a very creative thing for Greeks to do, which was clearly portrayed in this episode. I also liked this episode because I feel that it put Odysseus and his men into the most danger because it is extremely rare for humans to have the physical and mental power to battle with gods in the form of major natural disasters. The danger therefore made the episode the most exciting.
I predict that Odysseus will come home to chaos and disorder, and use his great leadership skills to put everything back into place.

I really enjoyed reading 'The Sirens'. The Sirens was a really interesting part to read. This was the first obstacle Odysseus knew he was going to encounter after visiting the Land of the Dead. In this scene, Odysseus revealed different characteristics that weren't shown before. For example, before they reach the island, he devised a plan and warns his crew about what they were going to face. Odysseus told the men to tie him up, and to put wax on their own ears. He would be the only one tempted by the sirens.
This part showed two sides of Odysseus. On one side of the story, you can see the loyalty and care Odysseus has for his crewmates. He is protecting them and preparing them for the Sirens. At the same time, Odysseus is trying to prove that he can live through the Siren's call. Since no one has ever done this before, he is cocky about being able to survive.
Another reason that I enjoyed reading 'the Sirens' was because it was about temptation. The Siren's song was about convincing the men that if they come to their island, they will be happy. They are basically being told that the men lust them, and that no one could possibly deny them. They promise happiness and offer a chance of relaxation after years of sailing and fighting at war. Since the gods have been against them, they sing to Odysseus, telling him that it is his chance to be taken care of.
I really liked the way that Odysseus took care of his men even though he was still trying to prove how great he was. If he had just put wax over his ears like the others, the story wouldn't have been as intersting because you would have no idea what the Sirens were like.
When Odysseus reaches home, I don't think that people will believe he is alive. Other than his wife, Penelope, who remained faithful for the 20 years he was at sea and his son, most people probably believe he has died. I think that Odysseus will want to rush to his family because he can finally be reunited with them. The only part is that I think he will have some trouble convincing his family that he is Odysseus. This could be because it has been 20 years since Penelope last saw him. He probably looks much older than he did before which could make it hard for others to recognize him. On the entire journey, his family back home in Ithica kept him determined. Even though he wasn't faithful like his wife, he blames his behavior on the influence of the gods and still wants to be with her.
What I really liked about the Oddyesy is the determination that he has to get home after so many bad things happen to him. This to me is very impressive considering that he comes home alone. We can only predict that his homecoming is not going to be a amazing greeting. Almost all of the people probally think that Henie dead. Odysseus also will find his home a very different place.
My favorite part of the odyssey was the section about the sirens. This part demonstrated many characteristics about Odysseus. It showed bravery, courage, and determination. His crew also showed faithfulness and trustworthiness by oobeying odysseus's orders and not untying him whhen he pleaded.
I predict that when Odysseus gets hoome, everything will be just as tiresias predicted except penelope is faithful to him. No one will recognize him and they'll think it's a trick.

The episode or adventure I enjoyed the most throughout the Odyssey unit was the one that involved the Sirens. I enjoyed this adventure the most because it represented temptation which is what a lot of people have to try to resist every day. For example, when the Sirens were singing their song in order to try to lure Odysseus and his crew to their island by exaggerating how great it was when Odysseus knew that it was all a trick, he stuck wax in all their ears so that they wouldn't be tempted or "hypnotized" to change their direction and head to the island where they would be killed. The temptation involved with people today are things like cheating on their wife/husband, starting a diet but eating those cookies anyway, or not telling a secret when they really want to let everyone know.
For Odysseus's homecoming, I can predict that he will come home to many hardships because of what he had encountered on his journey. We know that his wife is surrounded by many suitors and they all want Telemachus dead. We also know that he comes up with a plan to get them away from her and I can predict that the gods may finally work in his favor after 20 years.
The Sirens episode I enjoyed the most. I enjoyed it because it showed that Odysseus was a strong and had leader characteristics. It also showed that he had well working men by his side.
I think when Odysseus goes home he is going to be in for a big surprise as to what’s going on with his family. I also think that his family is going to be surprised to see him becasue they thought he was dead the whole time he was on his journey.

I'm not sure which one was the best, but I think overall I enjoyed everything equally good. But if I have to choose what I remember the most is the Cyclops... I think that it stayed in my head because it was the text was hard but it was creative and exciting.

The episode that i enjoyed the most was the episode of the cyclops. I find this episode to be very humerous. Although Homer wasnt writing it so it would be funny, but i myself find it funny. I enjoyed reading the part where Odysseus and his men get the Cyclops drunk and later on poke his eye. As i read it i was laughing because it is just so funny how that event can happen. Since i know that, that is really not true it is funny. I also liked that this episode shows how his men help him, but also demonstrates that Odysseus was left with a shortage of men.
I believe that when Odysseus arrives back at home in Ithica, he will tell his wife and his son how he was trying and trying to reach the main land (home) earlyer, but they just kept on going through obsticles and starts telling her the story.
The episode i enjoyed the most was the story on the sea monsters scylla and charybdis. I enjoyed this episode the most because it was the most interesting, and this episode had the most action in it. it was interesting to see how odysseus got himself out of another situation, and this was a turning point in the story because he is close to returning home to itaca.
I really like the part where Odysseus meets the Cyclops. I thought it was really clever of Odysseus to say that his name was Nohbdy(Nobody) because that way he was able to trick the cyclop. I also like how Odysseus and his men hid under the sheep, so that the cyclop wouldn't know that they were escaping.
I predict that there is going to be trouble at home, such as other men trying to court his wife, Penelope. I predict this because this was Tiresias' prediction.
The episode I liked the most was the sirens because I enjoyed reading about the actions Odysseus took to keep himself and his men away from harm. Odysseus showed his courage and bravery by listening to the sirens'song and being the only one to survive from it. I really enjoyed reading this episode because of how Odysseus showed great responsiblity for his men's lives and his himself. I think that Odysseus will be able to defeat the suitors in his home from his experience of fighting others and defending himself for 20years. I think the people will be very stunned from Odysseus's arrivement back home, including his wife Penelope.
The episode I enjoyed the most was the one where Odysseus and his men entered the "underworld". The underworld revealed mistakes Odysseus has made on his journey and what the consequences he will have to pay. I also like this section because of the geographical features. The so called underworld in comparison to were Odysseus lived is out of the common are. You could say that this place was labeled the underworld because it was distant. People of the past judged what they did not know and gave it supernatural qualities. This section was the best to me because it connected real life information. I predict that in the next section of the Odyssey Odysseus will arrive home, and there will be a shift in the atmosphere in the city state of Ithaca.
The story I enjoyed the most about the Odyssey was the part in which Odysseus and his men first land in the area in which it has the Cyclops'. When he gets there he ends up being trapped inside. In my opinion i felt that he was able to outsmart a a cyclops who is much bigger and stronger then Odysseus and his whole crew combined. The fact that he tells them his name is "No Body" shows how clever he is and quick to think. In a matter of being trapped there for not to long, they were able to trick the cyclops to drink to much wine so he wil eventually got tired and fall asleep. And when he falls asleep he ends up getting his eye jabbed with a tool they had been creating. I believe that in the future Odysseus will return home to Ithaca and have everything as Tiresias has predicted that Penelope will be pampered by all the suitors
The episode that I enjoyed the most is the one about the Sirens. The reason I liked the episode is because it shows how you give up temptation and wants for the well being of others. But it was also shows how even when your are helping your fellow person you still are selfish and will always be. The stories in the Odyssey have lessons that can be taken with your for the rest of your life. Odysseus isn't this epic person who is perfect but, Homer made him in such a way that reflects and even welcomes the thought of failure. To show the rest of the world that it is natural and okay to want things, to be selfish, to be arrogant. And the Siren story where he needs to refuse these women and get home really shows this.
For Odysseus home coming I can predict that from what Tiresias had said about the suitors, it won't be a walk in the park. There will probably be a battle but he might be outnumbered. So I am anxious to see how this will end.
To put it out there the story of the Odyssey that we know was originally verbally told. So the entire story may not be the exact story that Homer told and may have been a giant game of telephone until someone finally wrote it down. So the Odysseus that you know may have been changed based on peoples own opinion on what he should be. The story could be either more biased or less biased than the original story told by Homer. I am think about reading the story over again. It is a great story with tons of morals and epic adventures. I am glad that we read this book. I have a new found respect for classics and will try to read more classics than I would normally have.
My favorite episode from this epic story would probably be the "Land of The Dead" when Odysseus and his crew went to the underworld to visit Tiresias who holds knowledge of their future. This really showed me how he showed his kindness as well as his weakness when he sees the ghost of his mother. i believed that when odysseus returns home, things would be completely different than when he left

What I enjoyed most about the odyssey was the recent story about the sirens because when they were singing to the crew even though Odysseus was saying untie me because the song was so beautiful and the way they were singing was pretty to, the crew and odysseus still stayed on the boat. I felt it was cool that they did this because that shows that they overcame the temptation and sometimes that is hard to do.
When Odysseus comes home I think he will tell his wife penelope everything that he did with women and things that went on the trip with some of the crew getting eaten and I predict thats whats going to happen

The part that I enjoyed about the odyssey was the story when odysseus and his men verses the cyclopes. I thought it was interesting how he was able to use his intelegence to outsmart a creature that was much larger and stornger than he was. I also thought it was interesting how he was smart enough to tell the cyclopes that his name was nobody, so that when someone asked who hurt you he could say that nobody hurt him.
I believe that when odysseus returns to Ithaca his homw would be extremely didfferent from when he first left. Also I think he will have to somehow prove to the people of Ithaca that it os really Odysseus who they thought was dead for 20 years.
The episode I enjoyed the most was the "Cattle of the Sun God" I really liked this one, because even though the men were told not to kill any of the cattle they did and they got punished. It was like they didn't believe Odysseus, and wanted to test the gods. This part kind of remined me of when my brothers are doing something bad and my mom will tell them to stop or they will get in trouble. Then they don't stop and get in trouble.
I predict that Odysseus will face many more battles in coming home.
The episode of the Odyssey that I enjoyed th emost was the Sirens. The reason being is because I found the way Odysseus reacted to it was very clever. He gave his men certain instructions that they all were able to follow. The idea that Odysseus wanted to hear the Sirens' song, and be the only one to live showed Odysseus's epic hero quality. Also, they were able to get by perfectly fine just by following Odysseus' instructions. I like the way the situation was handled, and I enjoyed very much reading this episode.
I think when Odysseus returns to home, nothing is going to be the same. I think Odysseus is going to be able to defeat the suitors, considering he has been on a journey for over 20 years fighting for his life. I think it is going to be very difficult for Odysseus to return home again, I think things are not going to be as he remembered them. I think a lot of people wont believe that he is Odysseus considering they all thought he was dead.
The episode I enjoyed the most was the "Cattle of the Sun God". i liked this part the most because even though the gods made it clear to odysseus not to allow his men to kill the cattle and his men didnt believe him and they did so anyways, because they didnt believe odysseus when he told his crew not to kill the cattle. doing this they got punished and all. This reminds me when teachers tell their student not to do something because the students will get in trouble and the students still do what their teacher told them not to do and they get into trouble
What I enjoyed reading was the one Bianca liked also,because I pictured them singing and i thought that was a really good scene. Also when he wasent scared I think that was brave of him because that shows how he is stong and would fight for anything and for anyone. What I predict that's going to happend to odesseus is even though he thinks the bad things had stop, I think something bads gonna happend again,like a surprise.
I think my favorite scene may have been the cyclops scene. It really showed me many characteristics about odysseus, such as that he is brave, smart, and is able to lead his men, even in nerve wrackign circumstances (very epic qualities :D) I thought it was pretty clever that he told the cyclops his name was nbdy. He really lucked out that 1) the cyclops was pretty stupid and 2) the cyclops told his friends that "nbdy" was poking his eye out, instead of just pointing to Odysseus.
I predict that everything will go as Tiresias has rpedicted; Odysseus will come home and find his wife faithful to him, but with many suitors. he will kill them all. I don't really know what will happen when he is supposed to sail away to a land where people don't salt their meat...? Why would he sail away after he gets home?

When Odysseus returns home, I think no one will believe it's him since it has been 20 years since everyone saw him, and I think he is going to tell his wife and son about every obstacle and creature that he encountered.
I enjoyed reading the 1st part of the Odyssey,I can see why it's considered as one of the best written epic poems.The episode I enjoyed reading the most was when Odysseus and his men fought the cyclops. Odysseus showed his strenght and intelligence by poking a huge monster's eye out and in the process of doing it being able to protect himself by telling the cyclop that his name was "nobody".Odysseus is clearly smart because he knew that someone was going to ask the cyclop who poked his eye out and they'll never be able to find the Odysseus because he was "nobody". This episode shows all the elements of an epic poem, and it was my favorite.
I think people aren't going to recognize Odysseus since it's 20 years since he left.His wife Penelope will be faithful to him just like Tiresias predicted. His son won't recognize him and there will be a lot of conflict between people.

I liked the Sirens episode because Odysseus's men trusted him and listened to him and obeyed orders. Odysseus told him men to tie him to the boat and no to untie him no matter how much he screamed and begged. His men listened and kept the beeswax in their ears. I think that its very brave of Odysseus to put himself out there like that.
I predicted that home would not be the same as when he left it. I think that when he returns, Penelope will be happy, but the men that wanted to take out his wife, will try and kill him. I think that Telemachus will be very inviting when he sees his father.
The episode that I enjoyed the most was The Cattle of the Sun God. I liked this episode because in this it wasn't only of Odysseus' actions. It voiced how on of his men, stood up and pleaed to eat only a few of the cattle. They came up with the plan, where they would build a temple for the Helios and sacrafice for them. As well, they didn't think any of the Gods would find out, but the gods always see everything. I also liked that this plot took place while Odysseus drifted off to sleep. For once, Odysseus couldn't save his men from the imminent danger. It also shows how us as humans, will do anything for food even when we are told not to for there would be serious consequences.
For Odysseus' homecoming I predict that his whole home of Ithaca, would be in total and insane mayhem. Since he hasn't been home in 20 years, other warriors would try to claim his spot in power. As well, it Odysseus' son is a grown man, so he might not be able to remember his father.
So far my favorite part if the Odyssey was the Cyclops scene because, it shows his bravery to the cyclops despite the out come of everything that was possible that can happen.
I think Odysseus will have a difficulty when he returns home back to Itheca. People will probably treat him different from how they use to back 20 years befor his journey.
The adventure on the Land of the Dead was really interesting and enjoyable to read. It was when Odysseus travelled to the Land of the Dead to speak to the spirit of Tiresias. Tiresias is the blind prophet who was going to tell Odysseus what happens when he gets home. When he gets to the land, he meets a lot of dead spirits who share their stories with him.
After, Odysseus meets Tiresias, who warns him of the obstacles he has to face while going home. He tells Odysseus his fate that he will return home, reclaim his wife and kill the suitors. Tiresias warns him not to touch the flocks of the Sun God at the land of Thrinacia. If he does, he will face more hardship and suffering before he returns home.
Odysseus also meets the spirit of his mother, Anticleia. She tells him how she died of grief waiting for him to come home. She also updates him about his wife Penelope.
This story was interesting to read because it showed me a different side of Odysseus. It showed me how sad and pained he was to see his dead mother. Usually, he is this strong courageous hero in the story. Odysseus tried to reach out to his mother to show his affections but his hands went through his mother's spirit. He was really depressed to see that he could never touch his mother. Odysseus seemed weak during this episode, which is not like him.
I predict for Odysseus homecoming that he is going to find Penelope arranging her second marriage with one of the suitors. Odysseus is going to kill all of Penelope's suitors and will go face to face with Penelope and tell her that he is her husband. I predict that after the reunion, Odysseus will go to the greek gods who tortured him during his journey, like Poseidon, and try to make amends with them in order to prevent further conflicts.
My favorite episode was 'The Sirens,' because in that episode, Odysseus' leadership abilities are really evident. I also like that this episode makes you question on if Odysseus is really a hero or if he only wants to do good for himself. He could have easily put wax over his own ears so that he wouldn't have to hear the Siren's song, but he chose to listen. Probably, just to say that he was the only would who could withstand the temptations of the Sirens.
As for Odysseus' homecoming, I think it will be a relief to Odysseus, but his battle will not be over. Even though he would have sucessfully made it home, there are sure to be other troubles awaiting him as he was gone for nearly 20 years.

My favorite episode of the
Odyssey was by far the Sirens. Honestly, it was the easiest episode to understand for me, and it also represents temptation, which is also present in the modern world. For some reason, it reminded me of a fantasy or like a dream instead of an Ancient Greek myth, but I liked that. I also liked the idea of Odysseus' men putting wax in their ears to block out the music. Although this wasn't the first time he had done something clever, (like before he escaped the cyclops by hanging onto the sheep) but I thought this idea was a little more realistic. But, I didn't like how he forced a hero out of himself by strapping himself on the boat, he was being brave, but the other men could have done that as well if they were in charge.
I predict that when Odysseus comes home he will be alone, no more men left, being that they were killed along the way. I also think he will be greeted unexpectedly, everyone thinking of him as dead but also welcomed as a hero. I also think that he might tell Penelope what he had been doing, as in cheating on her, and that she will forgive him.
My favorite part of the Odyssey was the part where they went to the cyclops's cave. It was funny how easy it was to trick the cyclops. I didn't really like the violence in it though. :(

The episode of The Odyssey I enjoyed most in Part 1 was the Cyclops because I thought it had the best plot out of all the chapters we read. I really liked the trick they played in it, especially when Odysseus told the Cyclops his name was Nohbody so the Gods would have no one to blame and Odysseus and his men could safely escape. I also think this revealed many qualities in Odysseus, such as how he is a very cunning man. We also see the side of Odysseus that doesn't really care for his men because he only makes an effort to save the strongest ones for later benefit.
In his homecoming, I think Odysseus will find that though he might have looked forward to getting home, he will find it just as difficult as his journey to get there. I think he will face many challenges trying to get life back the way it was before he left, such as killing the suitors that have taken over his home.
I feel as though the episode in which I enjoyed most was the "Land of the Dead." As our group also created a movie based on this section, I felt that this episode held a large amount of important information regarding Odysseus's character. Anticlea, Odysseus mother, was met, and Odysseus's strong feelings and love for his mother were shown.
However, his soul filled with grief, and in a way, weakness; a character trait in which we haven't seen before this episode. Usually, as Monica said, Odysseus was the strong, "epic hero." I found this as an interesting character turning point in the midst of the epic poem.
As for Odysseus's homecoming, I predict that Odysseus will eventually reveal all that he has done against his wife Penelope. However, major battles will occur due to the fact that Penelope has stayed loyal throughout all of his journey. I can predict that for sure, Odysseus will have to overcome several obstacles in order to retrieve the life that he once had.
I feel that the scene that I enjoyed the most would probably be the Land of the Dead. This is so because I found it intresting when Odysseus met all of his dead friends and family, like when he saw Elpenor and his mother; when Odysseus met these people, he showed a characteristic that he had never shown before, grief. That is probably why I liked that scene so much, because he showed grief for his friends and family for the first time in all of part one; and him showing grief tells me that Odysseus is an actual human, and not some sort of a killing machine. Another thing that I liked about The Land of the Dead was all of the cool people that he met in Homer's version of it. He was able to see Achillies, Hurculies' phantom, and other cool Gods. This was a great usage of connetion between The Odyssey and other mythologies, which I found the comparison to be really neat.
When Odysseus returns to Ithica, I believe that what Tiresies predicted will be true; which means that Odysseus will kill all of the Suitors when he gets back to Ithica. I believe this mainly because Tireseis was already correct about the first part of his prediction. He predicted that if the crew killed the sun god cattle, all of them, ecept for Odysseus, would die by the power of the gods (this happened in the chapter, The Sun God Cattle). If he was right about that, then why can't he be right about everything else. I just realized that Tiresies made this prediction in the chapter, The Land of the Dead; this is very ironic.

The episode that I enjoyed the most was "Cattle of the Sun God" because it showed a lesson that was taught. When Odysseus told his men that whatver they do, they shouldn't kill the cattle because it will bring danger, the men betrayed Odysseus and went ahead to kill the Cattle. The punishment they faced was indeed death. This shows that they didn't listen to their leader because they were so hungry.
When Odysseus gets home, I predict that it will be totaly different, because he was gone for about 20 years, and in the beginning it will be hard for him to settle in.

THE EPISODE THAT I LIKED THE MOST FORM THE ODYSSEY WAS THE "CATTLE OF THE SUN GOD" BECAUSE THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT EPISODE BECAUSE THEY WERE GIVEN STRICT INSTRUCTIONS BY THE SUN GOD TO NOT TOUCH THE CATTLE. I THINK THAT EVERYONE WONDERS IN ODYSSEUS CAN LISTEN OR IF HE WILL TEST FAITH AND TRY TO GET AWAY WITH KILLING THE CATTLE AND GETTING HOME ALL TOGETHER.
What can you predict about Odysseus's homecoming?
I CAN PREDICT THAT WHEN HE GETS HOME THERE WILL BE MANY SUITORS IN HIS HOUSE AND THAT HIS OLD LIFE WONT BE THE SAME. EVERYTHING WILL BE DIFFERENT BECAUSE HE WENT AGAINST WHAT HE WAS TOLD AND KILLED THE CATTLE. NOT ONLY IS HE ALONE BUT NOTHING WILL BE THE SAME. KNOWING ODYSSEUS HE WILL COME UP WITH A PLAN TO GET RID OF THE SUITORS AND TRY TO GET HIS OLD LIFE BACK.
The part of the Odyssey I enjoyed the most was the part with the sirens. I enjoyed this part because it was one of the only times while reading the epic poem that I found myself getting excited to see what was going to happen next. I was not sure if his men were going to remain loyal to their word and keep him tied up or if they would go back on their word and let him go explore the land of the sirens. When the poem said they were going up to Odysseus, when he was screaming to be let go, I thought they were untying him, when they were actually holding him tighter. I also liked this episode because the events that took place required a lot of planning and strategy.
I think that when Odysseus gets home, he will reunite with his family (His wife, Penelope, and his son, Telemachus.) I think that even though he is finally home, he will receive some sort of bad news, to keep the story moving.

My favorite episode would have to be the 'Sirens' episode. It was definitely the easiest episode for me to understand. It was also relatable, for basically anyone to be able to stand up and be kind of like a role model (or hero), because Odysseus & even his men knew that they wouldn't be able to pull what he did. If he had tied up anyone of his men, the plan wouldn't have worked out so well, & the Odysseus story probably would have changed.
I can predict that Odysseus will find home, after a bunch of more situations trying to keep him from getting there. He will also give a sincere apology to his wife Penelope for cheating (hopefully). And then tell her about his adventure.

The episode of the Odyssey that I enjoyed the most was "The Sirens". The reason why I liked that episode is because it shows Odysseus' leadership qualities. Odysseus becomes a leader by taking charge and telling his crew to put earwax in their ears so they are not tempted by the songs the sirens sings. He is also good at taking direction by listening to Circe's directions to warn him about heading near the Sirens and telling him what to do when he goes near them.Odysseus takes one for the team by telling his crew to tie him up to face the Sirens and their hypnotic singing.He instructs them to not untie him no matter what he says or does when they get close to the Sirens. Their singing voices felt like a force that made you want to get closer and closer to them which of course would kill them. Their voices had an enchanting yet addictive quality that you couldn't turn your back on. But Odysseus never gave up and was determined to endure the Sirens' song and broke free from them. This shows his determination and his ability to resist temptation. Odysseus became the first person to listen to the Sirens and survive.
I predict that Odysseus will continue on his journey and face more monsters, spirts, conflicts between gods, death of more crew members, and more mystical creatures. I think Odysseus will be the only one left standing because he puts so much of his life in these crazy adventures. When Odysseus comes home to Ithaca, I think he will have a lot of catching up to do with his family and will have conflicts between his wife, Penelope and his son, Telemauchus. Will Odysseus' family ever forgive him for leaving them behind for 20 years or even know if he is still alive? I'm not sure if there will be a happy ending.

Out of what we have read inthe odyssey. My favorite out of the ones read, was probably the sirens. I enjoyed this story because Odysseus wanted to hear the zing of the sirens, but was told only he could listen to it. So he put wax in all if his mens ears, and tied himself up so he could not move. Then he listened to the song an eventually was not able to hear it anymore because they got to a far distance. This shows that he listened to what he was told and so did his men.
I think that when Odysseus returns, he will fight off all the suitors just like he planned, and I'm still curious if he will be honest to his wife about how "faithfull" he really has been over the 20 years he was gone

when odysseus returns home i think that alot of things are going to be different. 20 years is a long time and lots can happen and change. one thing i think is going to happen is that hsi son isnt going to believe odysseus is his father because he was born the year he went on his journey.
The episode I enjoyed most was about the Sea Monster because I feel that representing natural disasters as Gods was a very creative thing for Greeks to do, which was clearly portrayed in this episode. I also liked this episode because I feel that it put Odysseus and his men into the most danger because it is extremely rare for humans to have the physical and mental power to battle with gods in the form of major natural disasters. The danger therefore made the episode the most exciting.
I predict that Odysseus will come home to chaos and disorder, and use his great leadership skills to put everything back into place.
The episode I enjoyed the most from the Oddysey was the one about the cyclops. This is because I did it for my project for one, and I felt it was easier to comprehend then the others. I also like that he used his common sense to win he battle against the cyclops.

I really enjoyed reading 'The Sirens'. The Sirens was a really interesting part to read. This was the first obstacle Odysseus knew he was going to encounter after visiting the Land of the Dead. In this scene, Odysseus revealed different characteristics that weren't shown before. For example, before they reach the island, he devised a plan and warns his crew about what they were going to face. Odysseus told the men to tie him up, and to put wax on their own ears. He would be the only one tempted by the sirens.
This part showed two sides of Odysseus. On one side of the story, you can see the loyalty and care Odysseus has for his crewmates. He is protecting them and preparing them for the Sirens. At the same time, Odysseus is trying to prove that he can live through the Siren's call. Since no one has ever done this before, he is cocky about being able to survive.
Another reason that I enjoyed reading 'the Sirens' was because it was about temptation. The Siren's song was about convincing the men that if they come to their island, they will be happy. They are basically being told that the men lust them, and that no one could possibly deny them. They promise happiness and offer a chance of relaxation after years of sailing and fighting at war. Since the gods have been against them, they sing to Odysseus, telling him that it is his chance to be taken care of.
I really liked the way that Odysseus took care of his men even though he was still trying to prove how great he was. If he had just put wax over his ears like the others, the story wouldn't have been as intersting because you would have no idea what the Sirens were like.
When Odysseus reaches home, I don't think that people will believe he is alive. Other than his wife, Penelope, who remained faithful for the 20 years he was at sea and his son, most people probably believe he has died. I think that Odysseus will want to rush to his family because he can finally be reunited with them. The only part is that I think he will have some trouble convincing his family that he is Odysseus. This could be because it has been 20 years since Penelope last saw him. He probably looks much older than he did before which could make it hard for others to recognize him. On the entire journey, his family back home in Ithica kept him determined. Even though he wasn't faithful like his wife, he blames his behavior on the influence of the gods and still wants to be with her.
What I really liked about the Oddyesy is the determination that he has to get home after so many bad things happen to him. This to me is very impressive considering that he comes home alone. We can only predict that his homecoming is not going to be a amazing greeting. Almost all of the people probally think that Henie dead. Odysseus also will find his home a very different place.
My favorite part of the odyssey was the section about the sirens. This part demonstrated many characteristics about Odysseus. It showed bravery, courage, and determination. His crew also showed faithfulness and trustworthiness by oobeying odysseus's orders and not untying him whhen he pleaded.
I predict that when Odysseus gets hoome, everything will be just as tiresias predicted except penelope is faithful to him. No one will recognize him and they'll think it's a trick.
The part that i enjoyed the most was the cyclops scence. it was my favorite because of all the action and everything that ws going on and the cyclops eating everyone and yelling and screaming.
When he comes home i think he will tell his wife eveything that happened on his trip and tell her all of the people he lost during his trip.
The episode or adventure I enjoyed the most throughout the Odyssey unit was the one that involved the Sirens. I enjoyed this adventure the most because it represented temptation which is what a lot of people have to try to resist every day. For example, when the Sirens were singing their song in order to try to lure Odysseus and his crew to their island by exaggerating how great it was when Odysseus knew that it was all a trick, he stuck wax in all their ears so that they wouldn't be tempted or "hypnotized" to change their direction and head to the island where they would be killed. The temptation involved with people today are things like cheating on their wife/husband, starting a diet but eating those cookies anyway, or not telling a secret when they really want to let everyone know.
For Odysseus's homecoming, I can predict that he will come home to many hardships because of what he had encountered on his journey. We know that his wife is surrounded by many suitors and they all want Telemachus dead. We also know that he comes up with a plan to get them away from her and I can predict that the gods may finally work in his favor after 20 years.
The Sirens episode I enjoyed the most. I enjoyed it because it showed that Odysseus was a strong and had leader characteristics. It also showed that he had well working men by his side.
I think when Odysseus goes home he is going to be in for a big surprise as to what’s going on with his family. I also think that his family is going to be surprised to see him becasue they thought he was dead the whole time he was on his journey.
The episode I liked the best was the Sirens. I thought that it showed Odysseus's heroic traits the most to me... I also saw the Sirens as really beautiful girls trying to get them to come to their island and he also was really smart by putting the wax in his mens' ears.
It was also something I wasnt expecting. I think when Odysseus comes home he's going to face more problems with the people at home in Ithaca since he was gone for 20 years.
I'm not sure which one was the best, but I think overall I enjoyed everything equally good. But if I have to choose what I remember the most is the Cyclops... I think that it stayed in my head because it was the text was hard but it was creative and exciting.

The episode that i enjoyed the most was the episode of the cyclops. I find this episode to be very humerous. Although Homer wasnt writing it so it would be funny, but i myself find it funny. I enjoyed reading the part where Odysseus and his men get the Cyclops drunk and later on poke his eye. As i read it i was laughing because it is just so funny how that event can happen. Since i know that, that is really not true it is funny. I also liked that this episode shows how his men help him, but also demonstrates that Odysseus was left with a shortage of men.
I believe that when Odysseus arrives back at home in Ithica, he will tell his wife and his son how he was trying and trying to reach the main land (home) earlyer, but they just kept on going through obsticles and starts telling her the story.

The episode i enjoyed the most was the story on the sea monsters scylla and charybdis. I enjoyed this episode the most because it was the most interesting, and this episode had the most action in it. it was interesting to see how odysseus got himself out of another situation, and this was a turning point in the story because he is close to returning home to itaca.

I really like the part where Odysseus meets the Cyclops. I thought it was really clever of Odysseus to say that his name was Nohbdy(Nobody) because that way he was able to trick the cyclop. I also like how Odysseus and his men hid under the sheep, so that the cyclop wouldn't know that they were escaping.
I predict that there is going to be trouble at home, such as other men trying to court his wife, Penelope. I predict this because this was Tiresias' prediction.

The episode I liked the most was the sirens because I enjoyed reading about the actions Odysseus took to keep himself and his men away from harm. Odysseus showed his courage and bravery by listening to the sirens'song and being the only one to survive from it. I really enjoyed reading this episode because of how Odysseus showed great responsiblity for his men's lives and his himself. I think that Odysseus will be able to defeat the suitors in his home from his experience of fighting others and defending himself for 20years. I think the people will be very stunned from Odysseus's arrivement back home, including his wife Penelope.
The episode I enjoyed the most was the one where Odysseus and his men entered the "underworld". The underworld revealed mistakes Odysseus has made on his journey and what the consequences he will have to pay.
I also like this section because of the geographical features. The so called underworld in comparison to were Odysseus lived is out of the common are. You could say that this place was labeled the underworld because it was distant. People of the past judged what they did not know and gave it supernatural qualities. This section was the best to me because it connected real life information.
I predict that in the next section of the Odyssey Odysseus will arrive home, and there will be a shift in the atmosphere in the city state of Ithaca.

The story I enjoyed the most about the Odyssey was the part in which Odysseus and his men first land in the area in which it has the Cyclops'. When he gets there he ends up being trapped inside. In my opinion i felt that he was able to outsmart a a cyclops who is much bigger and stronger then Odysseus and his whole crew combined. The fact that he tells them his name is "No Body" shows how clever he is and quick to think. In a matter of being trapped there for not to long, they were able to trick the cyclops to drink to much wine so he wil eventually got tired and fall asleep. And when he falls asleep he ends up getting his eye jabbed with a tool they had been creating. I believe that in the future Odysseus will return home to Ithaca and have everything as Tiresias has predicted that Penelope will be pampered by all the suitors
The episode that I enjoyed the most is the one about the Sirens. The reason I liked the episode is because it shows how you give up temptation and wants for the well being of others. But it was also shows how even when your are helping your fellow person you still are selfish and will always be. The stories in the Odyssey have lessons that can be taken with your for the rest of your life. Odysseus isn't this epic person who is perfect but, Homer made him in such a way that reflects and even welcomes the thought of failure. To show the rest of the world that it is natural and okay to want things, to be selfish, to be arrogant. And the Siren story where he needs to refuse these women and get home really shows this.
For Odysseus home coming I can predict that from what Tiresias had said about the suitors, it won't be a walk in the park. There will probably be a battle but he might be outnumbered. So I am anxious to see how this will end.
To put it out there the story of the Odyssey that we know was originally verbally told. So the entire story may not be the exact story that Homer told and may have been a giant game of telephone until someone finally wrote it down. So the Odysseus that you know may have been changed based on peoples own opinion on what he should be. The story could be either more biased or less biased than the original story told by Homer. I am think about reading the story over again. It is a great story with tons of morals and epic adventures. I am glad that we read this book. I have a new found respect for classics and will try to read more classics than I would normally have.
My favorite episode from this epic story would probably be the "Land of The Dead" when Odysseus and his crew went to the underworld to visit Tiresias who holds knowledge of their future. This really showed me how he showed his kindness as well as his weakness when he sees the ghost of his mother.
i believed that when odysseus returns home, things would be completely different than when he left
