- Attention Lit Circle Readers -

Reading time and discussion time in class will be discontinued if students fail to be prepared in class.

This is valuable time to really talk about what you are reading and work with each other to successfully get through your classics -

If you are enjoying what you are reading for independent reading and/or lit circles now, please post a comment to "sell" the book to other potential readers... be specific without giving the book away.  What do you like about it specifically... why would other people want to read it?

I am currently reading "A great an terrible beauty" its pretty good book although I found the first 30 pages to be slow, it is also a scary book. The main Charactcer, Gemma sees visions, scary visions, like in one she saw her mother kill herself, and than it came true, and this black evil spirit is also following her around everywhere, and when she tries to report it, people tell her she is just seeing things. She is also now in a boarding svhool with a weird, suspicious roomate, Annie. She is at this boarding school to learn manners because she is not an ordianry 'Lady'.

This book is full of a lot of suspence, and her visions are very interesting. I think you (other classmates) should read this also because it is a very different book, like it is unrealistic, in that she has visions, but not a cliche like a vampire diary, or just another fantasy teen book.

The book I am reading just like Donna is "A Great and Terrible Beauty." So far, the main character Gemma has turned 16, and on that same day she started getting "visions." Unfortunetly her mother died, and Gemma is sent to live in England with the rest of her fmaily. They put her into a finishing school, and their Gemma has to learn to become a proper lady. Although, Gemma is unlike most girls in england, she knows there is more to life. And as she continues her life in England, her visions continue as well. These visions have a black evil shadow following her around. And as her visions continue she's able to learn more about them, and what exactly they mean.

I think this book is amazing. I truly love, and enjoy reading it. I am never bored with it, and I feel that every event is played out perfectly. The language that it used to describe an event is great, I am really able to get a feel of what is going on. Also, when reading I get so into the book, that I can feel Gemma's emotions.I think everyone would enjoy it as much as I do.
